Dress Form

12/10/2012
Christmas Present: Dress Form style

Being that I am not on this blog often, and it is not public, I feel safe writing this without the fear the my sweet mother-in-law finding out what I- rather my husband and I- are making her:) A dressform:) Here is an image of what I believe she would like...

I am sooo excited about it!!!!
So here is how we are making it- I found this website after we began, but it is a great tutorial!!!

Supplies:
Duck-tape
Old long tea-shirt- I used the hubbies because it was longer than my undershirts
Saran-wrap- for around your neck
Batting- I used the fake snow, it was the same product for less money:)- almost 4 bags
Cardboard- I saved a cardboard box for this, cut out and covered the base, 2 arm holes, and neck hole
Base: John made the base
Paint: We will use spray paint for the base
Batting: for around the form-a bit more cushion, probably not necessary
fabric: for making it pretty
Sewing machine, thread, needle:)

Here is what we have so far:
Step 1: Duck-taping my body, yes I may have enhanced a few areas to make it look more voluptuous:) John did all the work here:)

Step 2: Stuffing the form, did it around the base- and used cardboard to cover up any holes:)
Do you see the green tree branches in the right corner, that's right, we bought a tree! Well it is currently leaning against our couch- couldn't find our tree stand? Perhaps we threw it out in our move, who knows? haha oh and a God thing- John got the last one int he store at lunch. He asked around, they were out, but J spotted one in a cart and the store said there was a part missing,  if you know my husband, he is so handy and creative so found the piece and got us a tree stand!!!! Soooo excited

What little miracle has God done to show you how much he loves YOU lately? :-)

P.S. we are getting internet this Friday!!! Can't wait to finish and also be able to work on this at home!!! :0)

Creations

My sweet husband John and I got married August 15, 2009.  We had both just graduated from MSU Bozeman, John with his BA in Architecture, me with my BS in Mathematics and BA in Spanish both with teaching options. Since then, we have been projecting with each other- doing different projects. Here are some of our creations:)

Pintrerest

Pinterest- I was working concessions with the NHS students from Skyview this weekend and discovered Pinterest. One of the girls warned me not to do it because it was so addicting- so here I am, becoming an addict...
Of course like anything there are flaws, for instance all my pins are public- nevertheless, an online cork-board with ideas, inspiriations, and ways to create is an incredible invention.
Lately, I am  becoming more and more convicted about God creating us to be little creators- what a  fun way to design us. We are made in the image of our creator- so why wouldn't we want to be creative ourselves:-)? I remember a time in my life where I felt guilty for being creative- but silly me, everything I have is from God- and yes that includes my creativity.
Oh Pinterest makes me so excited for free time, and this summer!!! This month I bought an old ladder and used it to display my scarves- it works soooo well and I love it! I am getting soooo excited to make life a little more beautiful and allow my creative juices flow! Thank you Lord for making me the way you have- and thank you for a website that inspires me to create just like you do!!! I love being your daughter! xoxo

Why Hello

Blogging- what a wonderful tool. I have decided being a blogger will be my new way to document our life together as well as journal about what we are going through. I enjoy journaling- but why not blog when you can type:-).
